On 28th February 2025, the Federal Government and the NSW government announced the Solar for Apartment Residents (SoAR) incentive as part of the Solar Banks funding initiative. Eligible NSW strata schemes can get up to 50% co-funding for a solar system which reduces the cost of living in individual apartments, up to a maximum of $150,000 per strata building. According to Prime Minister Albanese, only 3.5% of apartment buildings in NSW have solar, which was quoted from Wattblock's Electrify Strata project!
