What are the top 20 key trends which we are going to see in residential strata electrification over the course of 2025.... * Solar installs for common areas will increase compared with 2024 * Battery installs for common areas will increase compared with 2024 due to the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme rebate being introduced 1st November 2024 * We may see a pilot of a battery which is not lithium ion battery chemistry based e.g. Lavo Hydrogen Battery * Allume Energy Solshare installs for individual apartments will rapidly spike upwards, compared with all previous years, due to NSW Solar Banks grant funding which is expected to be announced 23rd February 2025 * EV Charging infrastructure installs will be primarily driven by the October 2023 EV Charging infrastructure grants, with time lagged implementations occurring throughout 2025 and into 2026 * Heat Pump common hot water installs will increase (but each building will still face issues with continuing to get gas bills up to 18 months after the building 'quits gas') * QR Code activated power outlet installs to allow low power EV charging from 10amp power outlets with cost recovery will establish themselves as a viable alternative to EV charging infrastructure backbones * Balcony Solar will enter the Australia market, following the lead of Germany (except not the systems which plug in to a normal power outlet, but hardwired or standalone) * We may see a V2G 'pilot' in a strata building * There will be an increase of installs of general power outlets into strata basement carparks to cater for plug-in hybrids which are taking off at a faster rate than battery EV's in Australia * We may see the first pilot of a wind-turbine on a strata building * We may see the first pilot of an EV charging load management system which can activate dormant EV charging when there is excess solar coming from a common area solar system to avoid it being fed into the grid * A few stratas in wealthy postcodes will retrofit all windows in the apartment block to be double glazed windows * NABERS for Apartment buildings ratings will not be made mandatory for any size of strata building * Councils in Greater Sydney which are west of "the chicken curtain" may start running sustainability programs for residential strata buildings * Increase in EV carshare programs which allow a shared EV to only be used by residents of that strata building * Increase in establishment of outdoor e-Bike charging areas as individual strata schemes ban e-Bike charging inside apartments and inside basement carparks * Increase in installation of permanent electricity monitoring devices measuring the entire load of the building * Improvements in the ethics of embedded network operators as scrutiny continues to increase on this sector * Increase in 'airspace development' on top of existing strata building stock, with the newly constructed apartments or mini-homes craned onto the roof of the older strata buildings also being accompanied by solar photovoltaic installations Is there anything else that we have missed?
