While pools are a blessing in the Australian heat, they’re a double-whammy in the cost department: they not only consume a significant amount of energy, but can also require regular water top ups as well.
Hot water systems in strata have been shown to contribute significantly to the total energy cost of a building. Therefore upgrading to a more efficient system for common areas and apartments can both reduce energy consumption, and combat uncertain future electricity costs.
We have three Rheem gas hot water boilers at Freesia Gardens. When one boiler stopped working we ran the building on 2 hot water boilers for a period of 3 months. No-one in the 40 units in the complex complained.
