Quay North - Australia's most sustainable strata building?

Over the past 11 years there have been a number of residential apartment blocks which have taken the sustainability retrofit challenge seriously....really seriously.

Among these are Australia's "first green apartment block" Nexus, featuring solar thermal hot water thanks to pioneer, Paul Mitchell, who started the greening journey in 2008.

Catherine Lezer's 4.9kW solar photovoltaic retrofit for common areas at Botany Cope is another landmark.

Then taking it one step further, Sydney University Housing ("Stucco") did 30kW of solar and 43kWh of Batteries under Bjorn Stumberg.

Chris Nunn from AMP's sustainability department helped Generation W in Woolloomooloo scrap common gas hot water and replace it entirely with an electric heat pump.

Now there is a new contender for the crown of Australia's most sustainable strata building.

Could a 47 lot apartment block replace 300 lights with motion-sensored LEDs, replace water pumps with variable speed drives, install a 45kW solar sharing gateway and use renewable heat for common hot water?
